Spring 2025 Hops
A photo blog growing hops for the first time!
I audited a brewing course in the last year of my computer science degree, cause beer is good.
I also happen to live near where hops are commercially produced,
it happened to be right at the end of the hop rhizome ordering season, and hops just happen to look cool don't
they... So at the last minute I bought some!
Hopefully these photos do a good job telling the story :)

Hops were doing pretty well until the wildlife decided they were quite tasty
We also have Matt Sour, who's unfortunately been crippled

Since the main tip can't send hormones out to the rest of the plant, one of the stems down
below should hopefully take over as the new source of growth

Since they're getting too tall, I've re-potted them outside, switched to larger
poles, and added slight protection!
